Making serial dilution of a solution using multichannel pipettes and measuring the OD for each solution and drawing a curve. This will make your hands steady and dependable.
Preparing different kinds of buffers and working with pH
Isolation of single colonies
Making competent cells
Transforming competent cells with plasmid
Isolation of plasmid, restriction digestion, and agarose gel running
End-point and Real-time PCR of a given segment starting from primer designing and running the PCR itself
Cloning the amplified fragment in an expression plasmid
Expression of the cloned fragment and analysis of the proteins in SDS-PAGE
Purification of the protein expressed from the given plasmid through affinity chromatography.
Immunological techniques like direct- and sandwich-ELISA
2. Bridging course for life science post-graduate students to PhD program (6 months) [Theoretical and hands-on laboratory training]
This program is designed to prepare the students for various international PhD programs. The course is tailored to develop an aptitude for asking research questions, analyzing experimental results, and database analysis. Under this program, students will carry out project work with a specific research question. Through the project work students will learn techniques related to molecular and cell biology, immunology, protein purification, and analysis. They will learn bioinformatic analyses of genomic and proteomic data. Students will be taught how to write good letters, motivational statements, resumes, good presentations, and scientific papers.
